Tommy Gamble, Innovative Educator Watershed Study Using GIS with Phoenixville Area High School Science Teacher Tommy Gamble. The students were asked to perform an extensive investigation of the health of a small waterway in the Phoenixville area using geographical information systems (GIS). The students created and analyzed four different types of maps using ArcView mapping software. Students also used Google Earth to do a comparison study of their maps.
